TKS Capital Campaign
The King’s School’s leadership team is privileged to launch a major capital campaign to serve local families and their children. The acronym—“Bee”—alludes to the great challenge of building a new school facility and the compelling reasons for doing so.
To Build
After more than four decades of faithfully providing solid Christian Education from wood-frame buildings constructed in the 1970s, it is time to build. Clearly.
THE CHALLENGE
To Extend
Extending the scope of The King’s School’s impressive Christian curriculum and increasing the number of families it serves is a noble task. With new facilities, we can do more and reach more.
THE REASONS
To Endure
We know the Lord’s love endures forever and His mercies to all generations. As Christian educators, we are privileged to play our part in this eternal truth and run the race set before us with Christ-like endurance.
Phase 1
The first phase of the capital campaign involves moving our preschool—The King’s Early Learning Centre—from the south end of the property to the north, nearer to the elementary campus.
This move initially called for a new, prefabricated facility to be erected adjacent to the gym at a projected cost of $850,000.
In March 2025, Maple Ridge Christian School generously offered to sell us a portable for a nominal cost. Adding impressive renovations to this portable and providing our youngest students with a separate playground will bring the total cost of this option to $100,000—a significant savings compared to the initial plan.
The school board gratefully chose this latter option. The funds saved will be redirected to advance the start of Phase 2 of our capital campaign.
Phase 2
The second phase of Bee is the most significant step taken by The King’s School since its opening in 1982: The construction of a new elementary and preschool campus.
Plans and details for Phase 2 will be shared as Phase 1 nears completion.
DONATE NOW
Donations for Phase 1 of Bee are now being accepted. The target for making the very best new preschool home is $100,000. To date, $6,950 has already been donated by members of the TKS community! Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
Note: Donations may also be made by e-transferring to school@thekingsschool.org or dropping off a cheque at the office. When choosing these methods, please add Phase I to your e-transfer or cheque memo.
